ESI Services, LLC (ESI), formerly EDP Systems, Inc, was originally founded in 1973 in Tallahassee Florida, as a provider of tools and services to users of Burroughs equipment.   Over its 37 years, in North and South America as well as Europe, ESI has grown and evolved as a provider of IT-based business solutions, particularly in the area of COBOL and the migration-conversion of COBOL-based systems to current technology.

Our successful experience includes building over 30 award-winning products, as well as hundreds of varied application development and migration / conversion projects, from small to multi-million dollar projects, all centered around best-in-class project management and testing methodology to insure on-time, on-budget results meeting or exceeding its customers goals.

ESI works closely on migration projects with MSS International, its longstanding partner of 26 years.  MSS’s specialty is modernization through migration to evolving environments.  Based in London with world-wide experience, MSS has developed not only a very strong suite of products to automate migrations, but encyclopedic knowledge of the process.  MSS has completed over 50 successful migrations without a single failure!  ESI represents the MSS migrate!LINC and migrate!COBOL products as well as other components of its migration tool suite. 

Our partners also include HP, IBM, Sun, Oracle, Microsoft, Micro Focus, and Fujitsu COBOL.  We have been a partner of Unisys for most of our history, and Unisys commissioned ESI to write EVA, the V Series to A Series & ClearPath migration toolset, which it both sold and used for many years.  Our customers include the Federal Reserve Bank, Citicorp, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Dataprev (the social security equivalent for Brazil.)                 

We are constantly searching for and evaluating the best, most cost effective technologies.  ESI has recently partnered with COBOL-IT, the source of the fully supported micro-based open COBOL compiler, COBOL-IT, and its related tools; ESI is the primary US and Canadian support arm for COBOL-IT as well as a distributor of COBOL-IT products.
